INTEWO has developed an innovative HTML5 based web application for the project “Erlesene Natur” in the Höxter district. It is the advantage of the web application, that it is running on all major smartphone operating systems, including iOS, Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry. The application is providing detailed information about the project itself, as well as about the different protected areas and Points of Interest in the district. The kind of information includes GPS navigation and maps, videos, image galleries, audio files and text. One can access the application with opening this domain on the smartphone’s browser: erlesenenatur.sawah.mobi.

In the frame of the project “Erlesene Natur” in the Höxter district, Germany, a new GPS Nature Trail has been inaugurated. With twelve interactive points of interest the trail is providing information about the natural and cultural environment of the calcareous low-nutrient meadows in the village of Ossendorf and around the “Heinberg”. Smartphone applications are available for iOS and Android. A HTML5 web application is completing the range of visitor services. The trail has been implemented by INTEWO and is also part of the GPS Adventure Park in the Nature Park Teutoburger Wald / Eggegebirge.

SQU Summer Training 2013

For the fifth consecutive year, undergraduate students from the Department of Tourism of the College of Arts & Social Sciences at Sultan Qaboos University, completed their summer training in Germany, with the support of INTEWO | World Habitat Society GmbH. In this summer, four male and two female students majoring in Hospitality Management, participated in the six weeks summer training with INTEWO in the Teutoburger Forest Nature Park, Germany. Results of the training will be published in a booklet later this autumn.
