In cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences Ostwestfalen-Lippe (HS-OWL), Germany, INTEWO is currently producing a movie about the geological heritage in the Sultanate of Oman and its tourism potential. Geologists from INTEWO carried out a three weeks field work campaign with students from HS-OWL. The team visited a wide range of unique geological attractions between Musandam and Dhofar.

Education is the key

Latest INTEWO initiatives to implement sustainable education ideas in the Sultanate has been discussed with Oman’s Minister of Education, H.E. Dr. Madiha Ahmed Al-Shaibani, during a meeting in Ruwi. Khalid Al Toubi and Henning Schwarze informed the Minister about running projects, like an educational and tourism project for geological attractions in Oman and the Oman-German cooperation and its various activities, which has been launched in the “International Year for the Rapprochement of Cultures”.

The Sultanate of Oman has a rich and unique natural heritage.  INTEWO is working towards safeguarding the biodiversity and the manifold habitats in Oman. In a meeting with H.E. Mohammed Altobi, Minister of Environment and Climate Affairs, various initiatives, including protected areas, recycling, renewable energy and environmental education has been discussed and addressed.
